Just some quick information regarding real estate and the spread of Coronavirus here in El Paso, especially for our out-of-town or out-of state clients.  As of 31 March 2020, Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order setting a statewide standard for essential services that may continue to be provided, including residential and commercial real estate.

New construction homes continue without interruption.

Texas Association of REALTORS® (TAR) strongly discourages open houses at this time, however in order to continue to show properties to buyers, TAR has created a Model COVID-19 Certification for Property Access form, that a brokerage can use when a potential buyer or other service provider will access a property for a viewing or other transaction-related service.

In addition, many title companies are taking advantage of remote online notary services; however, some challenges have been reported on the acceptance of remote online notary services for loan documents. Title companies are also restricting who can come to closings in person and normally realtors and loan officers are not allowed.
